AP Medical representatives goes on strike against new labour codes, demand TA, DA
Kakinada: Medical representatives, who hold allegiance to AP Medical and sales representatives union, staged demonstration near the Collectorate here on Monday, demanding strict implementation of Sales Promotion Employees Act and waiver of GST on medicines and medical equipment besides stoppage of online sale of medicines.
Union state treasurer Dumpala Prasad while addressing the protesters demanded that the government formulate specific working rules to the medical representatives and enhancement of TA and DA which is proportionate to the rising prices.
He also demanded the scraping of four labour codes recently brought out by government in support of managements. He also released a poster listing out the demands charter and in support of the proposed countrywide strike on January 19.
Union state committee members D Venkanna, Kakinada city committee secretary ARC Varma, Treasurer Krishna, CITU city unit president Palivela Virababu have led the stir.
