Ayurvedic syrup seized by Telangana DCA for misleading claims on menstrual disorder treatment

Telangana: Drugs Control Administration, Telangana seized 'MENSET Forte Syrup,' an Ayurvedic medicine, in Peddapalli for making misleading advertisement that it treats ‘disorders of menstrual flow’.
During the raid conducted on 7 th November to detect medicines moving in the market with misleading and objectionable advertisements, DCA officials detected ‘MENSET Forte Syrup,’ manufactured by Onus Zaneka, SIDCUL, Haridwar, Uttarakhand and marketed by Zaneka Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
The label of the product bears a misleading claim stating that it treats irregular menstruation, menopausal syndrome, and amenorrhea (menstrual disorders).
The said ayurvedic medicine was detected by DCA officials at a medical store in Peddapalli. Stocks were seized during the raid.
Advertisement of a medicine for treatment of ‘disorders of menstrual flow’ is prohibited under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
