Ayurvedic syrup seized by Telangana DCA for misleading claims on menstrual disorder treatment
Telangana: Drugs Control Administration, Telangana seized 'MENSET Forte Syrup,' an Ayurvedic medicine, in Peddapalli for making misleading advertisement that it treats ‘disorders of menstrual flow’.
Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 prohibits advertisement of certain drugs for treatment of certain diseases and disorders. No person shall take part in publication of advertisement regarding the diseases/disorders indicated under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that officials from the Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana had cracked down on unauthorized medical practitioners who were stocking medicines without proper qualifications or licenses. These raids have uncovered substantial quantities of improperly managed drugs, including high-generation antibiotics and steroids, reinforcing the importance of strict regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical market.
