Biocon, Glenmark recall anxiety, high cholesterol medications in US
Biocon and Glenmark are recalling anxiety and high cholesterol medications from US market due to manufacturing concerns, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).
New Jersey-based Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc. is recalling 8,160 bottles of chlorpromazine hydrochloride tablets, in US which are used to treat various ailments like anxiety and psychotic disorders. The USFDA's latest Enforcement Report cited "Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) deviations" as the reason behind the recall.
"Results of the finished product is above the agency's current recommended limit of a Nitrosamine, N-Nitroso-Desmethyl Chlorpromazine impurity," it added.
