Mumbai: Cipla Limited has announced a postal ballot to seek shareholder approval for key leadership appointments, including the elevation of Achin Gupta as Managing Director and Global Chief Executive Officer.

According to a company, shareholders will vote on multiple resolutions through a remote e-voting process beginning February 24 and ending March 25, 2026. The results are expected to be declared on or before March 30.

The primary proposal involves appointing Achin Gupta as a director and subsequently as Managing Director and Global CEO for a five-year term starting April 1, 2026, until March 31, 2031. Shareholders will also vote on approving his remuneration package.

Gupta currently serves as Managing and Global CEO and previously led the company’s India business. The firm stated that his appointment is part of its structured succession planning and reflects his role in expanding global operations, strengthening manufacturing efficiency, and building strategic partnerships.

Shareholders will also vote on re-appointing P R Ramesh as an independent director for another five-year term beginning July 1, 2026.

The company said the postal ballot notice has been sent electronically to eligible shareholders, and voting will be conducted only through remote e-voting. Cipla added that relevant documents and details are available on its website as well as on stock exchange platforms.

Cipla is one of India’s leading pharmaceutical companies, with a global presence across prescription medicines, generics, and consumer healthcare products. The proposed leadership changes come as the company continues to focus on global expansion and operational efficiency initiatives.
