Coronavirus Lockdown: CDSCO allows submission of self attested documents for Import and Registration of cosmetics
New Delhi: With the lockdown continuing and firms having difficulties getting thier documents apostled and notarised, Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued a specific notice regarding submission of notarized/ apostilled documents for Import and Registration of cosmetics in view of COVID 19 lockdown situation.
The notification issued by Dr VG Somani, Drugs Controller General of India, allows the submission of self attested documents for the time being, along with an undertaking that notarized/ apostilled documents with legal signature will be submitted in due time within four months or the normalisation of the situation whichever is earlier.
The decision came after the CDSCO received representation about difficulties in submission of a notary, apostilled and embassy attestation of regulatory documents such as Power of Attorney, FSC, Manufacturing Licence with legal signatures etc. due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Keeping in mind the current scenario, the CDSCO has decided to give temporary relaxation making the following decision
The matter has been examined carefully in view of the situation due to COVID-19 outbreak and it has been decided that the applicant may submit applications for import registration as per the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 & Rules made thereunder along with such documents which are self-attested and an undertaking that they will submit the notarized/ apostilled documents with legal signature after obtaining the same from the concerned authority after normalization of the situation in light of COVID-19 or within four-month whichever is earlier.
Such applications with self-attestation as and when received will be processed and, if found satisfactory, import registration may be issued with the condition that the firm shall submit notarized/ apostilled documents obtaining the same from the concerned authority after normalization of the situation in light of COVID-19.
