Hyderabad: In an anti-corruption operation, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested three individuals in Karimnagar on Tuesday night for allegedly accepting a Rs 20,000 bribe from a local medical shop owner.

According to a recent media report in the Telangana Today, the accused include Assistant Director Maryala Srinivasulu and Drugs Inspector Karthik Bhardwaj of the Drugs Control Administration (DCA), along with private employee Pulluri Ramu.

According to ACB DSP Vijay Kumar, the DCA officials had demanded the bribe from the medical shop located on Doctors’ Street in Karimnagar to issue an annual inspection report. When the shop owner refused to comply, he reported the matter to the ACB, which set up a trap. Instead of directly accepting the bribe, the DCA officials dispatched Ramu to collect the money. He was apprehended while receiving the bribe from the complainant near Vijetha Hospital.

Following Ramu's confession, ACB officials arrested Srinivasulu and Bhardwaj at their office in Chaitanyapuri. The trio has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway, reports Telangana Today
