Pharma Trader
Haryana: Stepping up enforcement against tax irregularities in the pharmaceutical sector, the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) department has arrested a Sonipat-based pharma trader for allegedly evading GST on medicinal sales worth Rs 118.49 crore, following an extensive search operation that uncovered missing records and an estimated Rs 21.30 crore in unpaid tax.
The arrested trader has been identified as Pawel Garg, associated with Combitic Global Caplet Private Limited, whose premises in Sonipat’s industrial area were searched by CGST officials for several hours. During the operation, officers reportedly detected large-scale discrepancies in sales records and claimed the trader failed to provide satisfactory documentation for multiple consignments of pharmaceutical goods.
