Shimla: In a major statewide crackdown under the anti-drug campaign launched on November 15, Himachal Pradesh authorities on Wednesday inspected 20 pharmaceutical units across Una, Bilaspur, Solan, Sirmaur, Nurpur and Baddi, taking strict action against four non-compliant units through suspension, closure or voluntary licence surrender, with legal proceedings initiated against all violators.

The coordinated inspections targeted the misuse of inactive pharma units for illegal or substandard drug manufacturing, and five additional units remain under review as the enforcement drive intensifies.

Joint teams of police personnel and drug inspectors verified licences, examined production areas, reviewed warehouse operations, and checked stock and documentation to ensure adherence to pharmaceutical norms and prevent unauthorised use of facilities.

According to a recent media report published in The Times of India, officials reiterated that the state will maintain a zero-tolerance approach towards drug-related violations, and the crackdown will continue in the coming days.
