Last Chance: PCI Extends Deadline for 2025-26 Academic Year Approvals
New Delhi: The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has extended the deadline for institutions to submit their Standard Inspection Format (SIF) applications for the academic session 2025-26. Initially set to close on January 15, 2025, the new deadline is January 31, 2025, according to a circular issued by the Council.
This extension comes in response to repeated requests from stakeholders, including institutions, state governments, and examining authorities. "In view of repeated requests received from all stakeholders to extend the date, I am directed to inform that the Pharmacy Council of India has decided to extend the last date for submission of applications from 15.1.2025 to 31.1.2025," stated the Registrar-cum-Secretary of the PCI.
The PCI emphasized that this extension is the final opportunity for institutions to apply for approvals for the 2025-26 academic session. The Council warned, "The consequences of failure to apply will rest on the institutions, and institutions will not be considered for approval of the 2025-2026 academic session."
Institutions are urged to submit their applications well in advance to avoid server slowdowns as the deadline approaches. The Council added, "All the institutions are requested not to wait for the last date as crowding may slow down the server. Hence, applications should be submitted at the earliest within the stipulated date."
This directive applies to existing pharmacy institutions, examining authorities (universities and boards), and state governments. No further extensions will be granted, making it imperative for institutions to meet the revised deadline.
The circular concluded with approval from the Competent Authority, urging all concerned parties to act promptly. Institutions can access the PCI portal for submission and follow the prescribed guidelines for completing the SIF process.
