Pharmacy Council of India elects Montubhai Patel as new President

New Delhi: The central council in its meeting held on 6th April 2022 has elected Dr Montu M.Patel as the President of the Pharmacy Council of India.

Montu M.Patel also holds the position of President of Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, State Incharge of Youth Development Cell BJYM(Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha) for Gujarat.

Mehul Panchal, Former President, Gujarat Pharmacists Association-Student Committee, congratulated Montubhai Patel using twitter.

The tweet said," President of @GujaratIpa @GSPC_Gujarat and revolutioner of pharmacy @montu9689 ji, congratulations for become president of pharmacy council of India."

The Pharmacy Council of India is a statutory body under The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The PCI regulates pharmacy education and profession upto the graduate level in India. The Pharmacy Council of India is governed by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act which was passed in 1948. The PCI was constituted on 9.8.49 under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act. The duty of the PCI is to prescribe the minimum standard of education required for qualifying as a pharmacist and to ensure uniform implementation of the educational standards through out the country.
