Pune: Pune Police are set to register a case of abetment of suicide against a pharmacy store owner after a 20-year-old woman was found dead by hanging at his flat in the Baner area of the city. The decision follows a complaint by the victim's brother, who alleged sustained mental and physical harassment by the accused, prompting police to re-examine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The incident occurred on January 28, when the young woman was found hanging in a room at her uncle’s residence in Baner. She was originally from Pali district in Rajasthan and had been working as an attendant at one of the two medical stores owned by her maternal uncle. Initially, the police registered an accidental death case.
