PMSPPS Scholarship: PCI to Award Rs 12,400 per month to Eligible GPAT Candidates for 2023-2025
New Delhi: The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has announced the disbursement of the Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy Post Graduate Studies (PMSPPS) for the academic sessions 2023–2024 and 2024–2025.
This scholarship provides financial assistance of Rs 12,400 per month to GPAT-qualified students for a duration of up to 24 months (two years).
The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted in India by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is designed for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate pharmacy programs (M.Pharm) in institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
The official circular released confirmed;
“The Pharmacy Council of India awards Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy Post Graduate Studies (GPAT) - (PMSPPS) of Rs. 12,400/- per month to GPAI qualified students admitted to Pharmacy Council of lndia approved postgraduate programs in u/s 12 of the PCI approved Institutions / University Departments as per PCI approved intake."
To be eligible, students must have successfully cleared the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and secured admission to PCI-approved postgraduate pharmacy programs in institutions recognized under Section 12 of the PCI Act.
This applies to academic sessions 2023–2024 and 2024–2025, based on results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
"Only qualified GPAT students are eligible for this scholarship and this will be disbursed for the academic session 2023-24 and 2024-25 as per the result declared by NTA & NBEMS respectively. The scholarship is tenable for the duration of 24 months (2 years)," the council said in a circular to all qualified GPAT candidates.
The disbursement of the scholarship is handled by Canara Bank, and students are required to open a Canara Bank account to receive the funds. To streamline this process, a dedicated online portal has been set up: https://canarabankdisi.in/canaradiya/.
