Priyadarshini Mahapatra to exit Syngene International as Head Legal, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer

Karnataka: Syngene International Limited, a listed subsidiary of Biocon Limited, has announced the resignation of Priyadarshini Mahapatra from her role as Head Legal, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer; and Key Managerial Personnel of the Company to pursue other career opportunities.

Her last working date with the Company would be June 9, 2025.

"we hereby inform you that, based on the recommendation of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors at its meeting held today (i.e. Wednesday, April 23, 2025) have inter-alia considered and approved the resignation of Ms. Priyadarshini Mahapatra, Head Legal, Company Secretary & Compliance Officer (Key Managerial Personnel) from the services of the Company. Her last working date with the Company would be June 9, 2025. The Company places on record its sincere appreciation and gratitude for her exemplary services and invaluable contributions," the Company informed in a BSE filing.

Mahapatra is a performance-driven professional with more than 22 years of comprehensive experience in Corporate Governance, Compliance, Legal and General Management. She joined Syngene in 2019. Before joining Syngene, she worked with major corporations including ACC Limited, Reliance Power, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited [Automotive and Farm Equipment Business], Lanco, AREVA T&D, Ambuja Realty Development Limited, Tata steel, Consolidated Fibres & Chemicals Limited.

The Company has also appointed Peter Bains as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (a Key Managerial Personnel) of the Company in this month.

Earlier in March, Syngene International concluded the acquisition of its first biologics site in the USA. The state-of-the-art biologics facility, fitted with multiple monoclonal antibody (mAbs) manufacturing lines, was acquired by Syngene USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Syngene, from Emergent Manufacturing Operations Baltimore, LLC, a subsidiary of Emergent BioSolutions Inc., at a gross value of USD 36.5 million.
