Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company incorporates wholly owned subsidiary Genokine Biotech

Mumbai: Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Limited (SPARC) has announced the incorporation of its wholly owned subsidiary, Genokine Biotech Limited. The new entity was officially incorporated on July 4, 2025, with its registered office located in Vadodara, Gujarat.

This development follows SPARC’s earlier board decision on February 10, 2025, where the company had approved the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary in India.

Genokine Biotech has been established with an authorised and subscribed capital of Rs 1,00,000. Subscription of shares in the WOS will be by way of cash consideration. 

Genokine Biotech Limited will carry on the business of all types of research and development and other related services, including but not limited to support the development of products for human as well as non-human use, such as veterinary, agricultural, industrial products.

 As a newly incorporated company, Genokine Biotech currently has no turnover.

The Certificate of Incorporation has been issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, on July 5, 2025.

In December, SPARC signed a binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) through the office of OTMA, and Tiller Therapeutics Inc. to license SPARC’s rights in the joint intellectual property (IP) held between SPARC and UCSF for pre-clinical oncology asset along with associated IP.

SPARC is a clinical stage bio-pharmaceutical company. SPARC was formed in 2007 through a demerger from SUN PHARMA.
