Telangana: Medicines worth Rs 2 crore seized

Telangana: Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, busted the unauthorized manufacturing of certain drugs at Akron Formulations India Pvt. Ltd. in Bollaram Village, Jinnaram Mandal, Sangareddy District. Stocks worth Rs. 2 Crores were seized during the raid.
The seized drugs include Asperflex cream Topical Analgesic Cream, Medpura (Zinc Oxide 20 % Ointment), Ammonium lactate 12% Lotion and Ammonium lactate 12% Cream.
Huge stocks of the aforementioned drugs, manufactured illegally without a drug license at the manufacturing facility, were seized:
1. Asperflex Cream Topical Analgesic Cream, Lot No.: MMC2401A, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 5064 x 85 gm
2. Medpura (Zinc Oxide 20 % Ointment), Lot No. Z002402A, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 7176 x 56.7 gm
3. Medpura (Zinc Oxide 20 % Ointment), Lot No. Z002402B, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 2592 x 85 gm.
4. Ammonium lactate 12% Lotion, Lot No. ALL240002B, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 45 x 400 gm
5. Ammonium lactate 12% Lotion, Lot No. ALL240001A, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 72 x 225 gm
6. Ammonium lactate 12% Cream, Lot No. ALC2402A, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 6 x 140 gm
7. Ammonium lactate 12% Cream, Lot No. ALC2403A, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 4 x 140 gm
8. Ammonium lactate 12% Cream, Lot No. ALC2401A, EXP: OCT 2026, Manufactured for: Akron Pharma, Inc. Fairfield, NJ-07004, USA Qty: 6 x 140 gm
DCA officials seized stocks worth Rs. 2 Crores during the raid and lifted samples for analysis.
Sri. P. Ramu, Assistant Director, Patancheru, Sri. G. Prasad, Assistant Director, Ranga Reddy, Sri. G. Srikanth, Drugs Inspector, Bollaram, Sri. M. Chandrasekhar, Drugs Inspector, Patancheru, Sri. T. Shiva Teja, Drugs Inspector, Kapra, Sri. E. Naresh Reddy, Drugs inspector, Balanagar were among the officers who carried out the raid.
"Further investigation will be conducted, and action will be taken in accordance with the law against all offenders involved," Telangana DCA stated.
Drugs can only be manufactured under a license issued by the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, in compliance with the standards prescribed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Drugs manufactured without a license may not meet quality standards, and these products may pose serious risks to public health. Manufacturing drugs without a drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act with imprisonment of up to five years.
