Unauthorized manufacturing of certain veterinary drugs at pharma unit, stock worth Rs 3 lakhs seized

In a recent raid, the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, has busted the unauthorized manufacturing of certain veterinary drugs at Siflon Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Unit-I, in ALEAP Industrial Estate, Gajularamaram, Medchal-Malkajgiri District and seized stocks worth Rs 3 lakhs.

Acting on credible information, officials of the administration along with officers from CDSCO, Hyderabad Zone, raided the facility on May 28, 2025 and detected the unlicensed manufacturing of certain boluses and granules, including Albendazole Tablets 250mg (Bolus) Veterinary, Albendazole Granules (Veterinary).

Huge stocks of the aforementioned drugs — 537 kgs of Albendazole Tablets 250mg (Bolus) Veterinary and 986 kgs of Albendazole Granules (Veterinary) — which were manufactured illegally without a drug licence at the manufacturing facility, were seized.

DCA officials seized stocks worth Rs. 3 lakhs during the raid and lifted samples for analysis.
Sri. K. Prabhakar, Assistant Director, Quthbullapur, Sri. I. Srikanth, Drugs Inspector, Gajularamaram, Sri. K. Naveen Reddy, Drugs Inspector, CDSCO Hyderabad Zone, and Sri. M. Vikram, Drugs Inspector, CDSCO-Hyderabad Zone were among the officers who carried out the raid.
Further investigation will be conducted, and action will be taken in accordance with the law against all offenders involved.
Drugs can only be manufactured under a licence issued by the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, in compliance with the standards prescribed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Veterinary drugs manufactured without a license may not meet prescribed quality standards, and such products may pose serious risks to animal health. Manufacturing drugs without a drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act with imprisonment of up to five years.
