Mumbai: Venus Remedies Limited, a global pharmaceutical company, has recently secured Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) approval from the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). 

Venus Remedies' manufacturing unit, located in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India, has been recommended for supplying cephalosporin dry powder, a class of β-lactam antibiotic for treating bacterial infections, to UNICEF.

"This recognition from UNICEF further validates our relentless pursuit of excellence in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The approval will further help us make substantial contributions to global healthcare initiatives of UNICEF and positively influence communities worldwide,” said Saransh Chaudhary, President, Global Critical Care, Venus Remedies and CEO, Venus Medicine Research Centre.

The approval from UNICEF will enable Venus Remedies to partake in opportunities for the supply of essential medications, enabling the company to address critical healthcare needs in regions facing health challenges owing to lack of access to medicines. Akshansh Chaudhary, Executive Director, Venus Remedies, emphasised the significance of this approval, saying, "This endorsement from UNICEF is aligned with our mission to enhance access to quality healthcare globally.
