New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has said it has yet to take a decision on the roll-out of HPV vaccination against cervical cancer in the country. Dismissing media reports on the vaccination campaign, the ministry said it is closely monitoring cervical cancer cases in the country and is in regular touch with states and various health departments.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that three batches of approximately 80, 000 doses of HPV vaccine had been released by the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. This was the first made-in-India Human Papillomavirus (HPV) "CERVAVAC" vaccine, for the prevention of cervical cancer.
