Zydus Lifesciences Slapped Rs 3.28 Cr GST Demand
Mumbai: Zydus Lifesciences Limited has received a tax demand order amounting to Rs 3.28 crore from the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Gujarat, related to the financial year 2019-20.
The order, issued under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, pertains to the alleged inadmissible availment of Input Tax Credit (ITC). The demand includes applicable interest and penalty. The company received the order on March 24, 2026.
Zydus Lifesciences stated that it strongly believes the case has substantial merit and has decided to file an appeal against the order. The company also expressed confidence in securing a favourable outcome, citing past judgments from higher judicial authorities in similar matters.
Further, the company clarified that the demand does not have any material financial or operational impact at present.
