Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi Saturday said that the appointment of doctors and engineers will be done on "marks basis" and no written test or interview will be held for the purpose in the state.

Sushil Modi said this while addressing "Engineers Day" function on the 157th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna M Vishveshwaraiya organised by Bihar Engineering Service Association (BESA) here.

"The appointment of doctors and engineers will be done on 'marks basis' through Bihar Technical Service Commission in the state. No written test or interview will be conducted for carrying out the appointment of doctors and engineers in the state," Modi said.

Till the regular appointments are completed, those appointed on contracts don't need to get their renewal done every year, Modi said adding that contractual employees will also get facilities on par with regular employees like - earned leave, casual leave and maternity leave and other facilities.

They (contract employees) will get the benefit of work experience and age relaxation in the regular appointment, he said and added that students passing from engineering and medical colleges of Bihar will get 50 per cent reservation in the appointments.

The recruitment process is getting delayed by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) due to heavy requisition to it, the Dy CM said.

The state government has constituted Bihar Technical Service Commission to expedite the appointment process like it did in case of appointment of university teachers and police by setting up separate commissions, he added.
