Noida: Probe ordered at BR ambedkar hospital for fake certificate issue
Noida: Trouble seems to mounting for Dr BR Ambedkar Hospital, here after a private news channel showed a sting operation which, a hospital staff at the hospital was seen asking for a bribe of Rs 20,000 for giving a fake X-ray Report. Negotiations happened and finally the amount was brought down to Rs 8000, . To add to the worry, the sting showed the report being validated by a doctor at the hospital
As soon as the report came out, complaints pored from the local RWA, with residents complained that this was a regular feature at the hospital
A resident of NOIDA informed TOI, “When my neighbour went to the hospital for a medical certificate for his daughter's admission to Bal Bharti School, he was asked to pay Rs 50,000 which was finally reduced to Rs 10,000. But my neighbour chose not to pay the amount and got the certificate from another doctor."
"Providing fake medical certificates for a charge has become the norm here. There have been complaints of medicines sold outside the hospital by contractual staff as well. On top of that, no birth or death certificate is issued without a charge," said Suresh Tiwari, senior vice-president of Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations.
With the report being flashed over the media, immediate probe has been ordered by the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital DR NM Mathur. An enquiry committee has been formed under Dr MC Garg. Moreover, the doctor who had been caught under the sting has been moved from the emergency wing to the general ward for the time being till the investigation takes its course.
