Noida Residents Society demands AIIMS-like hospital
Uttar Pradesh: The Federation of Noida Residents' Welfare Associations (FONRWA) is now demanding an AIIMS-like institution withinin its close boundaries.
Reportedly, they have written a petition to PM Narendra Modi through Union minister Mahesh Sharma, who is an MP from Noida, stating their demand for a well-equipped and staffed hospital like Delhi's AIIMS and an IIT for Noida city.
The FONRWA has made this demand in order to have a hospital and a medical college which confirms to international standards and can provide quality education to the burgeoning population of the township. The complete premise of the petition is based on the fact that the local people should not be required to venture out of Noida to pursue higher studies and especially, healthcare.

As quoted by TOI, "We have petitioned the PM for a hospital and a medical college on the lines of AIIMS and an IIT for Noida along with a university that conforms to international standards so that residents do not have to go out of the city for further studies and healthcare," said N P Singh, FONRWA president.
As reported recently by the MD team, Greater Noida is expected to be the next destination for AIIMS, a hospital infrastructure to be set up at cost of 800 crore.
