NRHM racket: ACB continues to grill IAS officer

Jaipur: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan, which is probing corruption charges against IAS officer Neeraj K Pawan in connection with an alleged racket in NRHM, today continued to question him.


"The officer was again called for questioning today in connection with the case," an ACB official said but refused to divulge details of the interrogation.

He said that another accused official Anil K Agrawal, who was also summoned, did not turn up before ACB today despite seeking time till yesterday.

Earlier, the IAS officer was questioned on May 20.

ACB had conducted raids at 18 premises of five persons including Neeraj K Pawan, one Ajeet Soni, two other officers and a storekeeper in connection with an alleged racket in National Rural Health Mission (NHRM).

Pawan, an IAS officer of 2003-batch, was removed as the Commissioner of Agriculture department.

ACB had also arrested Soni, Chief Accounts Officer Deepa Gupta and storekeeper Joji Varghese.
