Odisha govt signs MoU with 4 private health care institute
Bhubaneswar: Odisha government signed four MoUs with four private healthcare institutes in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to provide better health-care services in the state.
The partnering agencies are - M/s Glocal Healthcare Systems Private Limited, Kolkata, Centre for Stem Cell Research, Christian Medical College, Vellore, Narayan Hrudayalaya and L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar.
The state government signed the MoU with M/s Glocal Health Care Systems Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata for implementation of the digital dispensary project in 14 locations of Nawarangpur district in the first phase.
The digital dispensary centres will be set up at Badamasigan, Benora, Binjhilli, Majhihdhanua, Kaudola, Kosakonga, Sanabarali, Badatemra, Chakalapadar, Telonadigam, Manchagram, Dhodipani, Ghodakhunta, Jhadbandhguda.The programme will be extended to another 11 locations of Nawarangpur district basing on the outcome.
The digital dispensary centres will function as OPD with virtual consultation with Doctors through video and facility for basic laboratory test and medication dispensing, to deliver quality primary healthcare free of cost to the patients.
The State Government has made an allocation of Rs.4 crore per annum for this project. The second MoU was signed with Centre for Stem Cell Research Christian Medical College, Vellore for better detection and treatment of Thalassemia, Sickle cell Anaemia to help reduce major Haemoglobinopathy disorders through screening, counselling, prenatal diagnosis with an appropriate technology and possible curative options.
The state government will establish a five-year collaboration with Christian Medical College, Vellore with the use of best technology in diagnosis and treatment. The Odisha Government entered into a MoU with Narayan Hrudayalaya to provide faster and better access to children detected with different heart diseases.
It is expected that following the MoU, children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease and Rheumatic Heart Disease can receive required surgery through Narayan Hrudaylaya on a sustained basis. The MoU signed with LV Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar will be helpful in providing specialized care to the needy children for treatment of congenital cataract and Retinopathy of Prematurity.
