Odisha: New Satellite hospital at KIMS

Jagatsinghpur: KIMS' founder Achyuta Samant laid the foundation stone of the state's 3rd satellite hospital at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences(KIMS). The first 2 hospitals were opened one in Kalarabanka under Raghunathpur block and another at Chikiti under Ganjam district respectively. The hospital is made in the collaboration  with Shri Shri Kalpataru Charitable Trust. The hospital has 40 beds strength.


The hospital has been named as Justice Bhabani Prasad Ray Memorial hospital and is to be situated at Shibapur village under Biridi block, 15 km away from the district headquarters. The hospital will provide all modern facilities and medical  services to the rural people and the hospital would be managed by  KIMS organization.


The inaugural ceremony was presided by State Health and Family welfare minister, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak; School and Mass Education Minister Devi Prasad Mishra, Cooperation and Excise minister Damodar Rout, Tirtol MLA Rajashree Mallick along with few justices and senior lawyers from the Odisha high court including hundreds of people from the Raghunathpur, Biridi and Jagatsinghpur.


Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Achyuta Samanta said that the hospital is built in the memory of late Justice BP Roy who passed away just three months ago. It was the justice's dream to built a Hospital for the betterment of the people and during his lifetime he had made many efforts to starting of the hospital for giving health services to his native villagers and residents of Biridi block, reports a Odisha local daily



Speaking on the occasion State ministers described the Odisha people have been facing so many difficulties in the absence of medical facilities at the state level like, mainly shortage of doctors and medicos in hospitals in recent time.


 Sabyasachi Nayak thanks to the Late justice B P Ray’s daughter Niyati ray proposed who gave her support in the hospital development and formation.
