Panel set up to probe molestation charges against government doctor
Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government has set up an inquiry panel to probe molestation charges against a doctor of the Government Medical College and Hospital.
"The government has constituted an inquiry committee to probe the allegation of molestation against a doctor at GMC, Jammu," J&K Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat said in the state Assembly.
He said an FIR has already been registered against the doctor and the report of the departmental inquiry instituted to probe the allegation will be submitted within 10 days.
The minister said the doctor has been put under suspension pending inquiry.
He said the law will take its own course and the guilty, whosoever, will face action as per the law.
The government had yesterday suspended the doctor, a week after he was booked for allegedly molesting a girl, a final year MBBS student.
The doctor who was the Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu, was booked on December 27 following a written complaint by the girl.
She had alleged that the doctor had called her to his room for discussing the result of her examination and then tried to molest her.
