Bilaspur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bilaspur.

The 750-bed hospital is to be built at a cost of about Rs. 1350 crores. It will also function as a medical college for imparting medical education at the undergraduate and post-graduate level, besides nursing.

The Prime Minister earlier in the day kick-started the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) poll campaign in the hill-state.

With his campaign, the Prime Minister will try to drive the 'Modi charisma' in the state and regain the lost power in 2012 assembly polls.

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), in Una.

He is also scheduled to inaugurate a Steel Processing Unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
