An MOU has been signed between the Puducherry government and Frontier Lifeline Hospital for conducting cardiac surgeries for the needy patients in the Union territory. The premise for the surgeries will be the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Postgraduate Institute.
A team of doctors from the Frontier Lifeline Hospital will conduct five cardiac surgeries in a week. As per the MOU the patients will also be provided with complete post operative care before being discharged at the hospital.
Before this facility, the below-the-poverty line patients from Puducherry are required to travel to Chennai for cardiac surgeries. The government will also save money, as a result of this new facility, since it will not be required to reimburse patients who undergo surgery in other hospitals.
Chief executive officer and chairman of Frontier Lifeline Hospital K M Cherian and director (health and family welfare services) K V Raman together signed the MoU in the presence of chief minister N Rangasamy and chief secretary Manoj Parida recently.
