Puducherry: JIPMER introduces toll free number for emergency services
Puducherry: Patients in emergency can get timely medical advice with the premier health institute JIPMER here announcing facilities, including use of video chat application Skype and a toll-free number, for their benefit.
A toll free number 1800-425-6565, mobile number 9787757279 besides three landline numbers (0413-2271301, 2271302 and 2271303) had been introduced to enable the public to use the emergency service effectively, Director of the Centrally-administered JIPMER Dr S C Parija said.
A team of junior and senior doctors had also been given a smart phone to respond to any telephonic call from a patient requiring emergency consultations to guide them. Skype service was also available and the ID is 'casualty desktop telemedicine JIPMER or casualty mobile telemedicine JIPMER', he said in a release. However, general enquiry would not be entertained as the new facilities were for emergency service.
