Ragging in Darbangha medical college in Patna leads to alleged attack on the principal

In a stage display of extreme misbehavior by the senior students at Darbangha medical college, the senior students allegedly attacked the principal on inaction over complaints by freshers on ragging

Darbangha medical college in Patna came under disrepute for ragging, and its subsequent alleged attack on the principal’s properties at his office because of the complaints filed by the freshers to the principal. DCMH principal Dr RK Sinha had earlier received a complaint from the first batch students of the college on the continuous humiliation they had to face by the seniors over ragging from 9.00 pm to 11.30 pm every night. Dr Sinha himself decided to investigate the matter, and took a stroll in the canteen one fateful night. However, the seniors ran away by the time he reached the ragging sight.

When the ragging still continued post he left the site (as informed by a student to Dr Sinha), the principal informed the police on the matter. However, the senior students had the audacity to stop the police at the gate saying that is an internal matter of the college.

“The students attempted to misbehave with the police too. After we left the college, the students reached the Principal's quarter at around 1:00 am and destroyed some properties there,” the SSP informed the local newspaper here.

They broke his car windows, AC, flowerpots and other things that they could lay their hands on, while the principal was inside.

The SSP has directed all the station in-charges that in case of ragging they shall visit the college along with the principal, as it is the matter of DMCH.
