Rural health care indicators considerably poor: Govt

Rural health care indicators are "considerably" poor as compared to that of urban areas and more than 23 per cent of rural households in the country faced "catastrophic" health care expenditures in 2014, government said.
"The rural health care indicators -- infant mortality rate, total fertility rate, under five mortality rate and availability of beds -- are considerably poor as compared to that of urban areas," Union Health Minister J P Nadda said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
