Sir Ganga ram hospital launches a big digital initiative to inspire easy administrative maintenance aimed at creating a digitally empowered society under the Narendra Modi's 'Digital India' campaign
New Delhi: Many public and private hospitals in Delhi are going the digital way, true to their source of inspiration under the Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” campaign. After the major announcement by the government in setting up an e-portal for healthcare service providers, with premier institutes like AIIMS, and RML joining the digital bandwagon; we have yet another noted initiative in the space. Sri Ganga Ram Hospital is going compact with the health records of the patient; by giving them the administrative power of e-accessing the hospital services.
The patients at Ganga Ram Hospital will now have a multi-purpose digital health card storing their important health information in a portable and easy fashion. The patients will also have an easy access to their clinical data, such as, their medical reports, films, and details of each visit to the hospital.
Moreover, this card will also function like your plastic money store, reducing your dependence to carry physical cash. It is a eWallet cash card in which the patient can store cash and use it to pay money at any department at SGRH. An added point of convenience for outstation patients; who can now transfer their money from the bank directly to this card.
As a part of the 'Digital India Programme', we have launched SGRH Health Card-- a multi purpose smart card, designed to provide patients with easy portability of their health care information and give the consultants faster access to their clinical data," said Dr D S Rana, Chairman, Board of Management at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
As reported in PTI,
The card is in the shape of a credit card. It contains a micro-chip with Smart-Chip Technology which stores all information related to patient's health.
"We have started issuing smart cards that integrate the patient's identity data with essential health information that can be quickly accessed," he added
Fast and secured access to patient's health information, lab results, queue management, access to the appointment scheduling of the consultants and various clinical services, patient dashboard at the consulting room and other cost benefits to the patients are the key features that would be offered in phased manner in the interest of improved patient care.
