Son of 2 proud Rajasthan Doctors, Nalin Khandelwal tops NEET 2019

New Delhi: Bringing pride to his doctor parents, Rajasthan-based Nalin Khandelwal has emerged as the All India topper of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for MBBS and BDS courses for this year, NEET 2019 while scoring 701 out of 720 marks.


Khandelwal said he prepared for the examination for two years. Crediting his parents and teachers, the AIR 1 topper stated, “My parents motivated me to study, providing me with a positive environment... I fully focused on studies for two years in Jaipur. Since my parents are doctors and my elder brother is also doing his MBBS, I got full support from them as well as from my teachers," he told reporters.


The topper said that he took a break from social media and smartphones. "I studied for nearly 7-8 hours a day," he said.


'I am very happy at securing the first rank. I used to study for eight hours every day. I would like to thank my teachers." he added.









The results of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for MBBS and BDS courses for this year, NEET 2019 were declared yesterday, with over 7,97,042 candidates qualifying in it from 14,10,755 who appeared for the exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body for NEET this year held the entrance exam throughout the country on 05 May, 2019 and on 20 May, 2019 for Cyclone Fani hit Odisha and Karnataka candidates who couldn’t appear for the examination on time due to the train delay for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges.


Delhi’s Bhavik Bansal and Akshat Kaushik from Uttar Pradesh secured the second and the third positions respectively. Both Bansal and Kaushik scored 700 marks, but the former was ranked second for securing more marks in biology than the latter.


Haryana’s Swastik Bhatia bagged the fourth rank by scoring 696 marks, while Anant Jain from Uttar Pradesh scored 695 marks.


Telangana’s Madhuri Reddy G emerged as the topper among girls by securing an all-India rank of seven. She scored 695 marks out of 720.


Rajasthan’s Bheraram topped among the differently-abled male candidates by scoring 604 marks. Sabhyata Singh Kushwaha from Uttar Pradesh topped among the differently-abled female candidates by scoring 610 marks.
