Man shot inside private nursing home in Bihar, sustains critical injuries

Arrah: A man sustained critical injuries after being shot at by an unknown assailant inside the premises of a hospital in Bihar's Arrah city, police said.

The man sustained critical injuries after being shot at thrice on Thursday evening.

The victim has been identified as Ranganath Chauhan, alias Chhotu Chauhan, police said.

According to the police, the shooting incident took place when Chauhan had gone to a private nursing home in Arrah for his wife's delivery yesterday.

He was shot at while he was waiting for his wife's delivery, they said.

Doctors immediately operated on him and removed the bullets but his condition is said to be critical.

The attackers, however, managed to flee.

Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar said the motive behind the shooting incident is not clear yet, and efforts are on to identify criminals with the help of CCTV footage.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
