Delhi Medical Association warns against Quacks practising during of Covid-19
Delhi - Pointing out to the threatening menace of quacks practising in the capital, the Delhi Medical Association has appealed to the authorities to keep such persons in check stating that they are "playing with the lives of people".
Dr Arvind Chopra Hony. State Secretary DMA said that two days back nodal officer of New Delhi District of Delhi Govt went to Budh Nagar area of Inderpuri as it was a hot spot area. He found a clinic operated by a quack who was giving medicine to the patients. He had no degree with him. He was giving tab Deriphyline a medicine used for the difficulty in breathing which is the main symptoms of Covid 19 patients. He was giving even steroids as well. On inquiry, he showed a visiting card of some Dr. R. K. Sharma who is not registered with any council. The person practising said that he is giving medicines on behalf of so-called Dr R. K. Sharma.
At this nodal officer asked Mr. Sharma to come to the office with papers. Mr. Sharma did not reported and police were asked to file an FIR. Further, Office of SDM has ordered for searching and seizing all such quack clinics run by quacks in the area of Budh Nagar.
Dr. Girish Taygi, President, DMA said that it is pertinent to mention here that in Delhi about 30000 quacks are playing with the lives of innocent civilians even during this difficult time of pandemic of Covid 19 without any fear of law. They are also not registered with the DPCC for BioMedical Waste Management. Earlier also a list of quacks have been sent to DPCC for taking action but no action has been taken against them for violations of DPCC Act.
" On behalf of DMA, we request the concerned authorities to issue such notice in the whole capital for searching & seizing all such quacks clinics and file FIR against them to save the lives of innocent people," the DMA release stated
DMA also appealed to the doctors of modern medicine to come forward and open their clinics with all precautions and treat the poor and needy patients in the hour of crisis so that quacks are not able to play with the lives of innocent people in the capital city.
