Doctors demand financial aid and immediate justice for doctor shot

New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, a junior resident doctor at Rao Tula Ram (RTR) hospital was shot on the face inside the hospital premises as the miscreants escaped with his car on Monday. The resident doctors of the hospital staged a protest and boycotted duties demanding immediate action as the culprits are neither identified nor arrested even after two days.
Standing in solidarity with the protesting resident doctors, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) also questioned the lack of security at hospitasl. Dr. Rohan Krishnan from FAIMA stated that they are currently pressing for the arrest of the culprits and are also approaching state authorities to arrange financial aid for the operation of the doctor. The association has given 48 hours to Delhi police to arrests the culprits.
The victim has been identified as a 26-year-old junior doctor who was serving his night duty at the casualty ward of the hospital. Describing the incident, Dr. Rohan told Medical Dialogues that during the night duty, the doctor parked his recently purchased Verna car and went to have some tea at a vendor's stall just opposite the hospital. Later, when he approached his car, two men tried to forcibly enter the vehicle. In order to save himself, the doctor immediately reversed his car causing one of the men to fall, and then drove speedily to the hospital premises.
