Two more COVID-dedicated hospitals in Delhi
New Delhi: The Delhi government on Friday declared Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital and Satyavadi Raja Harish Chander Hospital as designated COVID-19 treatment facilities.
The hospitals have 200 beds each to admit confirmed and suspected coronavirus cases and to provide treatment free of cost.
In an order issued on May 29, Padmini Singla, Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department, said the beds are being added "to augment the availability of beds in designated COVID hospitals of Delhi government".
The Medical Superintendent of the Hospitals were directed to convert these into designated COVID facilities by June 2.
So far, Lok Nayak Hospital (2,000 beds) and Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (500 beds) had COVID patients-dedicated beds.
The total coronavirus cases in the city crossed the 17,000-mark on Friday.
