Haryana: In a tragic incident, a 31-year-old Palwal based doctor has allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison. As per the family of the deceased doctor, a group of 3 had been blackmailing him and extorted money from him saying that they will file a false rape case against him if he did not pay them the asked amount.

The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against three persons, including two women.

Tribune reports about the incident wherein the doctor was constantly being blackmailed after a woman allegedly honey-trapped him and threatened to register a false rape case against the doctor. The doctor initially paid money to the blackmailers but their demands increased and after being unable to take the blackmailing anymore and pay more money, the doctor, scared of being framed in a false rape case, allegedly committed suicide.

The wife of the deceased informed the police that after consuming the poison the deceased had called his brother who after that informed her. The deceased was found lying unconscious in a field and he was rushed to a private hospital nearby where he was declared dead.
According to The Tribune, the wife of the deceased doctor told the police, "He had told his elder brother that two women and a man identified as Rakesh, resident of village Karimpur, had trapped him. They were taking cash from him threatening to file a rape case. He had run out of money and could not bear the blackmail and thus consumed poison. His brother called me and I with family members went looking for him and found him in the fields."

Following the complaint of the wife of the deceased doctor, an FIR was registered against the accused people under Sections 306, 34 of IPC at Chandhut police station.

When asked about the progress of the investigation, Deepak Gehlawat, SP, Palwal told a media person that "We are investigating the matter and trying to trace the accused. The family has alleged honey trapping and blackmail."
