The protesting students further said that their hostels, which were occupied by the COVID-19 staff, have also not being vacated, resulting in hardships for them.

''We have paid a large sum of money for the hostels. Despite repeated requests to the administration, the COVID staff has still not vacated the hostel,'' they added.

They said the presence of the staff at the hostels has made them vulnerable to the virus. ''So far, eight students have tested positive for COVID-19, after they came in contact with the Coronavirus staff within the hostel,'' they alleged.

Shouting slogans in favor of their demands, the students sought immediate commencement of their clinical classes and shifting of COVID-19 staff from the hostel.
