Over 2000 PCR kits made available for Zika virus test in 4 medical college hospitals in Kerala
The Medical College Hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram (1,000), Thrissur (300), Kozhikode (300) and NIV unit in Alappuzha (500) were made available with PCR kits, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said in a release.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Sunday said 2,100 PCR kits were made available to four Medical College Hospitals for conducting Zika virus test in the state.
The Medical College Hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram (1,000), Thrissur (300), Kozhikode (300) and NIV unit in Alappuzha (500) were made available with PCR kits, the Minister said in a release here.
The Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital received 1,000 kits including 500 Triplex kits enabling simultaneous detection of Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika virus, and 500 single Plex kits for detecting Zika virus, she added.
