Odisha: Doctor injured after drunk man attacks medico with knife
Bhubaneswar: A doctor was attacked with a knife by a drunk youth after a verbal altercation broke out between the two over a minor road accident in Jagamara area of Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The medico identified as Ashutosh Pradhan, who works at a Covid hospital in Koraput sustained injuries in hand during the incident that took place on August 16. The doctor was on his bike when his vehicle collided with the accused's car. The youth, who was intoxicated entered a heated argument with the doctor demanding money claiming that his car got damaged during the collision.
The matter escalated and the man pulled out a knife from his car and tried to attack the doctor in his stomach. However, the doctor suffered injuries in his hand and managed to call the PCR.
A complaint was lodged at the Khandagiri police station. On the basis of the complaint, Khandagiri police caught hold of the accused, who is said to be a native of Jagamara.
