SCB Medical College nephrologist Dr Chittaranjan Kar passes away at the age of 57
The deceased doctor has been identified as Prof Chittaranjan Kar, the Head of Nephrology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Cuttack: A renowned nephrologist and State nodal officer of Cadaveric Transplant passed away at MGM Healthcare in Chennai at the age of 57.
The deceased doctor has been identified as Prof Chittaranjan Kar, the Head of Nephrology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
The doctor tested positive for Covid-19 in September. He was initially admitted at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar then brought to SCB for treatment. But due to his deteriorating condition and severe lung infection, he was airlifted to MGM Hospital in October.
At MGM, his recorded condition seemed to be elevating during Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) treatment.

But contrary to the positive growth, he lost his life while undergoing treatment for post-Covid complications as the doctors had decided to opt for a lung transplant.
The Odisha Bytes reports that his condition suddenly started to get severely alarming since Thursday evening and he breathed his last around 5 pm on Friday despite the finest efforts by his doctors.
Dr. Kar's mortal remains will be brought to Bhubaneswar from Chennai, where he was being treated, on Saturday adds the daily.
