Puducherry Announces Financial Support for govt school students studying MBBS
Tamil Nadu- The Puducherry government is going to bear the tuition fees as well as hostel and food expenses of the government school students who secure MBBS seats. Students who have missed the opportunity to get laptops will also soon be provided equivalent cash assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The announcement was made during a recent event was organised on Friday, January 10 where farm loan waiver certificates were distributed to farmers. The event was attended by Assembly Speaker R Selvam, Home Minister A Namassivayam, Agriculture Minister C Jakoumar and other key officials and was presided over by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
As per the EdexLive media news report, speaking about the assistance to government school students securing MBBS seats at the event, the CM announced that the government will bear the tuition fees as well as their hostel and food expenses. "These students come from very poor families. The government will ensure that they complete their medical education," he said.
