Gian Sagar Medical College likely to function this year after management pays Rs 1.5 crore endowment

Punjab: After facing a three-year-long battle over the financial crisis, the Gian Sagar Medical College is likely to resume its operations from this year after the new management of the college pays rupees 1.5 crore endowment fund to the state government to initiate the admission process of the college.
The process of MBBS and BDS admission has been initiated by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, it is more most likely to you have 1135 MBBS and 1030 BDS seats. This time along with it, the BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali may also start its first batch with 100 new MBBS seats. It is going to be the 4th Government Medical College in the state.
Previously the Medical Dialogues Team reported that the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Dental Council of India (DCI) withdrew the recognition of dental and medical college of the Gian Sagar Educational and Charitable Trust. The medical institutes were shut down in February 2017. This had been done in the absence of the trust management coming up with any concrete revival plan for the institute facing a financial crisis. Following this, the government at that time announced the shifting of around 1,500 UG and PG medical students of the Medical College to other medical institutions operating across the state to complete the remaining years of their courses.
