1,000 Doctors, 25,000 Nurses to be Employed on Temporary Basis for COVID management, says Rajasthan CM

The recent release by the Rajasthan Government, following the Corona management review meeting, mentioned several steps that are being taken by the Government to ensure the proper treatment arrangements keeping in view the rapid surge of infections in the villages.

Mr. Gehlot, on Sunday night, was conducting a high level review on Covid-19 infection, lockdown, availability of resources, and other related matters.

The Chief Minister has instructed that in order to ensure proper arrangements for Covid treatment at CHC and PHC, immediate services of 25 thousand nurses and one thousand medical officers may be availed on temporary basis.

Keeping the upcoming requirements in mind, he further gave directions to arrange an infant intensive care unit along with the arrangements of ICU and 10 beds of High Flow Oxygen facility in the block level CHC that got developed in the form of Covid Consultation and Covid Care Center.

He said, "in order to ensure that Covid patients can get oxygen facility locally, five Oxygen concentrators should be provided at each PHC and 10 at the CHCs."

"All our emphasis should be put to improve the health facilities in the rural areas," further added the CM.

He further added that the State Government has initiated Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme in order to help the people of the State from the huge expenditure of treatment. In this regard, the officers have been instructed by the CM to set up a control room for its effective implementation. The CM said that this control room will ensure effective resolution of all complaints related to the scheme.

Expressing concern over black fungus cases coming up in Covid patients, the Chief Minister asked to arrange a special study conducted on this by a group of specialist doctors. He further instructed to include the expense of the black fungus disease in the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Insurance Scheme.

Besides, addressing the storm coming from Gujarat, the Chief Minister instructed to keep oxygen supplies smooth and prepare buffer stock. He asked to ensure that the storm doesn't result in difficulty regarding electricity in the hospitals. Further instructions were given by the Chief Minister to keep generators in the hospitals as an alternative arrangement. The disaster management teams have been instructed as well to be remain deployed in potential impact areas and monitor every situation.

Medical and Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma said that the districts where the spread of infection is more, efforts are being made to increase the scope of testing there. Also, the distribution of the medicine kit and the arrangements of the treatment are also being strengthened in those districts.

Minister of State for Medicine and Health, Dr. Subhash Garg said that in order to curb the spread of infection in the villages, more emphasis needs to be given to the strict compliance of the lockdown, testing, and tracing. He further suggested accepting public cooperation along with government efforts to strengthen the community health centers.
