Chennai: In an unfortunate incident, a third-year MBBS student at the Government Stanley Medical College was allegedly found dead inside his hostel room in Seven Wells on Wednesday.
The deceased was a 25-year-old student and a native of Ernakulam in Kerala who was found unconscious lying on his bed and broken ampoules of two drugs and a syringe were found in his room.
The incident was discovered on Wednesday when some classmates of the student went to his room after they found him missing from class and campus. However, the door was locked from the inside following which they repeatedly knocked on the door but the student failed to respond to it.

Finding it suspicious, they contacted the hostel security, who finally broke open the door and found the student in an unconscious state in his bed. He was immediately rushed to the Medical College hospital where he was declared brought dead.
His body will be handed over to his family members after post-mortem procedures. His parents have already reached the city in the evening after receiving his passing news from the college authorities.
