Govt Panel studying impact of NEET 2021 gets huge response, maximum wants it scrapped

Chennai: Collating data to study the impact of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on medical education, the high-level panel constituted by Tamil Nadu Government has revealed that it has received 25,000 representations until Monday, wherein, more people want it scrapped.
Confirmation to this effect has been given by Justice AK Rajan, who heads the panel.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the Tamil Nadu Government had asked the public to submit their opinion on holding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 amidst the pandemic. Issuing a newspaper advertisement, the Government had sought feedback from people on the matter on or before June 23
The State had formed a high-level panel to study the impact of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, NEET on aspirants in Tamil Nadu, especially those belonging to the rural areas, and socially disadvantaged sections. It was decided that the eight-member committee led by a retired judge of Madras High Court, A K Rajan would study the impact of the screening test required for medical admissions on the students and submit its recommendations within a month.
