UP: All 75 districts to get medical colleges, announces CM Yogi Adityanath
The State Government is now preparing to make Uttar Pradesh a hub of medical education, where not only the people of the state but people across the world can get all types of medical facilities.;
Lucknow: With the commitment to provide affordable and up-to-date medical facilities to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has planned to construct a medical college in each of the 75 districts of UP.
In this sequence, the government has planned to open medical colleges on the Public-Private-Partnership(PPP) model in 16 districts of the state that do not have any college till now. The Uttar Pradesh Government will soon introduce a new policy on this, officials here on Monday said.
According to the government spokesman, the state government wants to strengthen health facilities at the grassroots level and the government will increase the number of health centers in rural and urban areas. Super-specialty hospitals will be constructed in districts including Gorakhpur, Agra, and Varanasi.
In December 2020, interacting with some top businessmen in Mumbai, CM Yogi had said that out of a total of 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, many still require medical colleges. There is an opportunity for investors to make these medical colleges on the PPP model.
