West Bengal: A first-year MBBS student at Deben Mahata Government Medical College and Hospital, Purulia, recently alleged brutal ragging assault by senior students inside the boys' hostel. According to the complaint, the student was attacked by around 14-15 seniors at midnight after being harassed for several days, resulting in multiple injuries.
Following the complaint, the college’s anti-ragging committee held a meeting and investigated the allegations. Two main accused, a second-year and a fourth-year student, have been suspended and directed to vacate the hostel. The college authorities have acknowledged the incident and assured strict action against those involved.
