The doctor assaulted in Aurangabad has got no call to action from the state police till now. He ( the doctor) has not been summoned by the local police yet, who claim to be investigating the case, but have yet got no clues to legally approve the assault. As our sources confirmed, this particular incident is yet to cut the ice with the police, due to lack of evidence. And reportedly, no legal recourse is to be taken, as of now, lacking any update on any identification action. It is rumoured that two accused were caught, however the police is yet to call the doctor for identification. The dean of GMCH visited the police station in this regard and has been told that the matter is still under investigation.
As only promises are still being made, MARD Aurangabad will continue with it's strike till the local state administration including the police pays heed to the incident.
At the moment, GMCH is being manned by Associate professors, Assistant professors, and even the senior professors themselves. It seems that the whole public healthcare premises seems to be crippling down
Meanwhile, Central MARD has extended their support to the Aurangabad wing, saying that in view of the situation, all resident doctors in Maharashtra will wear black ribbons while working on the 22nd July and also that if the culprits are not arrested under the Doctors Protection Act in a non-bailable manner by 23rd July, 8.am, Central MARD will go on an indefinite strike from July 23, 8 a.m
